Citiscope, the city monitoring platform

 What is Citiscope?

Citiscope is a software service (SAAS) that makes available to public administrations and private organizations real-time data on how people live in cities. Taking advantage of the fingerprints that people leave in their interaction with social networks, Citiscope provides its clients with tools to understand what the talking points are in a city, who are their influencers, and how they live, its citizens work and move.

Cisicope is based in Helsinki, Finland, and serves cities around the world.

Which is the product?

In total synergy with Citiscope, Possible has developed a platform capable of monitoring city activity at the neighbourhood level through the use of public and private information sources. Thanks to the control panels developed as part of the interface, Citiscope users can consult the data in a simple and intuitive way through maps, graphics, and information cards. The result is a product that offers real-time information on the experience that people have of their city. All in one click.

The product Possible has developed in total synergy with the Citiscope team. It is a platform that ingests data from various public and private sources, and is capable of monitoring cities at the neighborhood level, providing the user with various ways of viewing results. In addition, for those data that are not accessible, various machine learning models capable of estimating them with great precision have been implemented.

As we have done?

Citiscope has a complex architecture based on a pipeline of various processes. The first of these is the ingestion of millions of different data from social networks. These networks are then fed into an elasticsearch database to facilitate their management.

The platform is based on various MLP or SVM-based machine learning models for estimating various non-accessible characteristics. The architecture has been developed to guarantee its easy scalability in order to incorporate new data sources.

The resulting information is displayed in a front built-in vue.js so that the user experience is as friendly and versatile as possible.
